The locale market
The Locale Market is a super high end organic food market and butcher where you can enjoy having your meal and doing grocery shopping of fresh products at the same time. The atmosphere is like being back to NYC. The staff are really nice. They have kitchen stations where they cook the food in front of you and you can eat your fresh health food inside or out. The Locale market has something for everyone. There is a sushi roll station, a cheese station, a pizza station, a burger & sandwich station, and a coffee station with freshly baked desserts. They also have a dry-aged meats and fresh fish cooked to order on a grill.
Going upstairs, you can see one of the most beautiful and phenomenal restaurants, the FarmTable Cucina. The menu is a mix between the best of Michael Mina’s California sensibilities and Don Pintabona’s Italian flavors. I loved their signature burrata cheese and the fillet steak I ordered was so tender and delicious. When the staff knew that Greg and I weren’t from the town, they called their manager, Jason, who welcomed us in person and took us for a lovely tour in the restaurant and introduced us to all of his staff. He also spent a good time guiding us to the must visit spots in town. I extremely enjoyed the exceptional experience at FarmTable Kitchen. The food in general was so good and the service was excellent
Where to have breakfast or brunch ? (Cassis)
Though I stayed in St. Pete for 3 days only, I managed to make it to Cassis American brasserie restaurant twice. First time was for a brunch and second time was for a coffee with my friend. Cassis is a French bakery located on Beach Drive in St. Pete. It’s unique location gives the visitors the opportunity to enjoy the delicious food with the beautiful view of the park. The design of the restaurant is so elegant and the atmosphere is terrific. Going on a weekend made the restaurant so busy but I must say that the service wasn’t slow at all. All those factors combined in addition to the good food and coffee made my experience at Cassis unforgettable.
Where to have diner ? (The Mill)
I would definitely fly all the way from Atlanta to St. Pete just to enjoy the dinner at the Mill. The décor of the restaurant is creative. The chairs were lined with jeans, the bathroom sink was basically a tire and they have used jars to cover the ceilings lights. We had an awesome waiter, James, who described everything in details. When he was done, we asked him about their signature plates. His advice was outstanding. We started with their burrata cheese and Salad. Then we had the watermelon bruschetta and ribs. When we were done with these plates, we were almost full but there is always a room for more delicious food . We ended our dinner with steak and lamb shanks. Too much food right? Hahah
Now you are thinking that after all that food we gave up on dessert right? Actually we had dessert too and they were soooo good! Ugh I’m so craving them now.
That chef at the Mill is so creative. He certainly deserves the highest awards. His complex flavors melded together to something never before experienced which made his food so exceptional.
Can’t wait to visit again.
